Terms and Conditions

Last updated: January 2025  |  Amirat Al Khaleej, Sharjah, UAE

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the services provided by Amirat Al Khaleej, a ladies tailoring boutique located at Abdullah Bin Salam Street, near Darwish Mosque, Al Mujarrah, Al Sharq, Sharjah, UAE. By placing a commission, booking a consultation or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

Section 01

About Our Services

Amirat Al Khaleej provides custom tailoring, garment stitching, hand embroidery and alteration services exclusively for women. All garments are made to order based on measurements and design specifications agreed at a private consultation. Our services include but are not limited to abaya tailoring, Jalabiya tailoring, kaftan stitching, bridal wear, gowns, maxi dresses, traditional dress tailoring, Mukhawar, Maghribi, Soube, fashion wear and clothing alterations.

We reserve the right to decline any commission that we are unable to complete to our standard of quality, or that conflicts with our values as a women-first boutique. In such cases, we will inform you clearly and promptly and any deposit paid will be returned in full.

Section 02

Consultations and Commissions

All custom tailoring commissions begin with an in-person consultation at our Sharjah boutique. During the consultation, we discuss your garment requirements, fabric selection, design details, agreed price and expected completion timeline. The commission is considered confirmed once:

  • The design, fabric and price have been agreed verbally or in writing
  • Measurements have been taken
  • The agreed deposit has been received

Any changes to the commission brief after work has begun may result in additional charges and extended timelines. We will communicate any such changes to you clearly and will not proceed with amendments until you have agreed to the revised terms.

Section 03

Pricing and Payment

All prices are quoted in UAE Dirhams (AED) and communicated at the consultation before work begins. Prices are based on the garment type, fabric cost, embroidery complexity and estimated labour time. The agreed price will not change unless the commission brief changes after work has begun.

Deposit: A deposit is required before work begins. The deposit amount is agreed at the consultation and is payable immediately to secure your commission date and fabric.

Final payment: The remaining balance is due at the time of collection. We do not release completed garments until the full balance has been settled. We accept cash and bank transfer. Please confirm accepted payment methods at your consultation.

Additional charges: If a client requests significant changes to the design after work has begun, or requests additional work beyond the original scope of the commission, we will provide a revised quote before proceeding. Additional charges will only apply with the client's agreement.

Section 04

Timelines and Delivery

We provide an estimated completion timeline at the consultation. Timelines are based on the complexity of the garment, the availability of materials and our current workload at the time of booking. Estimated timelines are communicated in good faith and we make every reasonable effort to meet them.

Amirat Al Khaleej is not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our control, including but not limited to fabric supply delays, public holidays or events of force majeure. If a delay is anticipated, we will notify you as early as possible.

Rush orders are available subject to our current workload. Rush orders may attract an additional charge, which will be communicated and agreed before work begins.

Bridal and designer commissions carry longer timelines due to the complexity of the work involved. We strongly recommend booking bridal consultations a minimum of six to eight weeks before your wedding date, and designer commissions four to six weeks before the occasion.

Section 05

Client Responsibilities

To ensure the best possible outcome for your commission, clients are asked to:

  • Attend all scheduled consultation and fitting appointments, or notify us as early as possible if rescheduling is necessary
  • Provide accurate and complete information about the design, occasion and any preferences relevant to the garment at the time of consultation
  • Raise any concerns or feedback at the fitting stage, where adjustments can be made most effectively and at no additional charge
  • Collect completed garments within 30 days of being notified that the piece is ready
  • Follow garment care instructions provided at collection to maintain the quality of the finished piece

Amirat Al Khaleej cannot be held responsible for garment issues that arise from inaccurate information provided at consultation, failure to attend fittings, improper garment care after collection or modifications made to the garment by a third party.

Section 06

Cancellations

If you need to cancel a commission, please notify us as early as possible. The following cancellation terms apply:

  • Cancellation before fabric purchase: If you cancel before fabric has been purchased on your behalf, we will consider returning your deposit at our discretion. Please contact us immediately if you need to cancel.
  • Cancellation after fabric purchase but before cutting: The deposit will be retained to cover the cost of fabric and administrative time. Any fabric purchased on your behalf that has not been used will be offered to you at cost.
  • Cancellation after cutting has begun: Once cutting and construction have begun, the full commission cost remains payable as the garment has been made specifically for you and cannot be resold.

Appointment cancellations for consultations and fittings should be made at least 24 hours in advance where possible. Repeated no-shows without notice may affect our ability to accommodate your commission.

Section 07

Fabrics and Materials

We source fabrics from trusted suppliers and carry a selection in our boutique for clients to choose from in person. Clients may also bring their own fabric, subject to our assessment that it is suitable for the garment design requested.

Natural variations in fabric, including colour differences between batches, texture variation and minor weave irregularities, are inherent characteristics of fabric and are not considered defects. We will draw your attention to any significant variations at the consultation stage.

If a specific fabric requested by the client is unavailable, we will inform you promptly and suggest suitable alternatives. Fabric substitutions are only made with client approval.

Section 08

Intellectual Property

Designs created by Amirat Al Khaleej, including original embroidery patterns, garment silhouettes and design concepts developed by our tailors, remain the intellectual property of Amirat Al Khaleej unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients are welcome to use garments produced for them in any way they choose, but may not reproduce or commercially exploit our original designs without prior written permission.

Designs brought to us by clients and executed by our tailors remain the property of the client who commissioned them.

Section 09

Limitation of Liability

Amirat Al Khaleej's liability in relation to any commission is limited to the value of that commission. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special losses arising from delays, defects or service issues, including but not limited to losses related to the occasion the garment was intended for.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable UAE law.

Section 10

Conduct and Environment

Amirat Al Khaleej is a women-only boutique. We ask all clients and any guests who accompany them to respect the private and respectful environment we have created. We reserve the right to ask any person to leave the premises if their conduct is disrespectful to our staff or other clients.

Our store is located in Al Mujarrah, Al Sharq, Sharjah, and operates in accordance with UAE laws and cultural standards. All services are provided in compliance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

Section 11

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from our services will first be addressed through direct communication between Amirat Al Khaleej and the client. We are committed to resolving concerns fairly and promptly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through direct communication, it will be referred to the competent courts of Sharjah, UAE, whose jurisdiction both parties agree to accept.

Section 12

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will be available at our store and on our website. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
